Here is a mind map from a recent blog post of mine on living well with dementia. Click on the image to expand it.

LIVING WELL WITH YOUR OWN DEMENTIA

And below is an animation of the same mind map.

What do you think about this alternate way to explore a large mind map? I like it.

Note that the animations are especially useful on smartphones and tablets.

Here is a second way to show a large mind map. Create images of each major portion of the map and present slides in a presentation where you can manually more the presentation forward or backward using the “arrow keys.” This can be done automatically in iMindMap if your blog is programmed for WordPress. The advantage of this method is that you can manually go forward and backward in the presentation using the arrow keys.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Both types of displays can be created in iMindMap. The resulting videos come out in formats .avi or .mov that are too large for most websites. The videos were converted on HandBrake (Mac app) to the much smaller .mp4 file format. For the slide show, individual slide output files (.png) are converted into a slide presentation within a WordPress web site.

[OK folks, this is a pet peeve. If you use my idea, have the decency to to cite this blog post as the source. GH]

Brilliant George as always! Yes – hate these plagiarists; I’ll report them if I see ’em!
